Messages of Hope

Shared Vision

Page history last edited by Terry Britton 3 yrs ago

Please, everyone:

Write your own personal vision of how you would envision this company

as if it was your own company!

(which it is, by the way).

Be proud to share it with all of us. Be as far reaching as you like!

Feel Free To Plagiarize!!!!!!

There are no limits to what may be possible.

We are all going to write some drafts of our own Shared Visions here, and I would appreciate if you would sketch in any ideals or "larger purpose" oriented statements you would like to see as your personal contribution to what our purpose and Shared Vision is going to be.

Be as idealistic and utopian as you would like!

For instance, Ben and Jerry's Shared Vision naturally included making great ice cream, but also included being committed to environmental issues as well.

Anything you add here could be included as part of our growing Shared Vision, and more ideas may, can and will be added to it in the future as well. This factor of receptivity to including everybody's written vision for the company as a shared idea is an important part of our Shared Vision as a flat lattice, non-hierarchal organization. One of my own Visions for the company would include making our organization be able to serve as a model for other companies who might want to attempt to set up their own company having the same or a similar kind of a company organizational structure. I'd like to include the notion of our being a positive influence world-wide. That kind of thing...

Terry Britton's list:

(Follow my model of writing style or make up your own - it doesn't matter.)

  • Well, for the big, big picture, I'm after nothing less than World Peace that comes about via Every Single Person's Personal Edict, Election, Conscious Choice to Have It, Decision, Determination, Decree, Insistence, Demand, Absolute and Stubborn Resolve, Desire and Predilection.
    • My Vision is to spread these words - Our company's Messages of Hope - far and wide via a wide assortment of media, artistically, beautifully, aesthetically, elegantly, in ways that are obvious and in ways not so obvious.
    • My Vision is to provide a wide variety of individuals with rewarding and well paying jobs in a positive and growthful work environment, where people feel they are appreciated and are treated fairly and with respect.
    • My Vision is to hire people, directing them towards work that fulfills them in their heart and soul, allowing people's energy and creativity to flow into different projects (once they have their committments fulfilled at the project they are currently working on - which may simply mean finding a replacement whose heart is more in line with that project the other is leaving).
    • My Vision is to demonstrate best organizational practices, supported most firmly by a doctrine of fairness to all who work for our company, and to serve as a model for others to emulate, much as we will emulate aspects of Gore Associates of Newark, Delaware's own flat lattice organizational model.
    • My Vision is to employ all forms of media in deploying our Messages of Hope to all whom we can reach in the world, but to also demonstrate to others how that can be done via many inexpensive avenues, and even through income producing means for non-profit organizations and the like who can use our products to raise funds for their own purposes.
    • My Vision is to assist through example other organizations who aspire for their messages - both in house and distributed - to be pure and positive, according to our criteria, displaying the desired result or effect that will be caused, for instance, by their own organization's success in the fulfillment of their own company's Shared Visions, as they themselves provide people with the means and resources to be able to have hope.
    • My Vision is to show how people can hope to reach for the sky, to dream of a world where fairness and kindness to others prevails, to bring humanity out of the darkness and into the sunlight, inspiring hope in every corner of the world.
    • My Vision is to change the world, one Message of Hope at a time, via the progression of Hope empowering people to Dream, and for their most heartfelt Dreams to lead them to Aspire in some larger way, for themselves to be participatory in their present surroundings, in their world and community, their Aspirations becoming part of their Notion of Being and of their Self Identity - and from their strongest Aspirations, that they may take some Action or Actions that will help others, and thus improve the world in some way by Their Direct Influence.
    • My Vision is to give people the opportunity to enjoy happiness and the feeling of security in their world, and the possibility for happiness that can last the rest of their life.
    • And lastly, My Vision is to empower people to be able to give the precious gift of hope to others, in hopes that those recipients may choose to carry on this torch of light and touch others with it - "paying it forward," you might say, carrying on the empowering strength of our messages even by word of mouth to those who cannot read them or understand the language we use, and yet are in need to hear them, and thus help enlighten the world and make it a happier and more hopeful place every single day, assisted by our efforts.

Hello all! It's Tennill. Although my Shared Vision isn't very organized, it's what I would "hope," if this were my organization.

  • My Vision is to break barriers when it comes to "Hope." I would like for all messages to be created purely from the heart! I want to address Hope "in all corners of the world." This wouldn't just end at encouraging people who have some hope or an ounce of hope, but people whose hope is lost. We, as a society, experience this everyday, ie. crappy customer service, no more "hello, how are you?," "please," or "thank you," and a growing disrespect for senior members of society.

  • I would like for everyone to feel rewarded by their careers. This means everyone feeling that they each play an integral part in the success of this organization. Recognizing that everyone innately possesses their own skills, talents, and contributions. I feel that most companies do not utilize their employees to their full potential because they often don't know how. Often, employees are used for what they can do - not for what they can do well. I want everyone to feel like they are in control of what their responsiblities are and what needs to be achieved in order to produce the best product possible.

  • I want to be a part of a company that truly cares for one another, no gossip, no back-biting, no stepping on one person to supercede them. Not "be here at 8 a.m., or we're gonna write you up!" How about... "I see that your most productive times vary, how about giving you a deadline to meet, with that we can set times (in shared accordance), intermittantly to check your progress. Most companies don't recognize that they would get a better contribution from their employees, if only they would create a workflow style that is catered to each, individual employee. I want to be motivated and constantly motivate my peers/coworkers that we can succeed. Winston Churchill, Shirley Chisolm, Mahatma Ghandi, Galileo were people just like us, who made serious contributions to society. And we can, too!

  • I want "our messages" to be more explosive than the "Got Milk" campaigns, more endearing than breast cancer awareness campaigns, and more enlightening than a Hare Krishna pamphlet. I use these examples, because they all have applied some form of "The Tipping Point's" major ideals. We are living in a prodigiously cataclysmic moment in time, which is perpetuated with every sunrise. I want to reclaim the true meaning of the phrase "Goodwill to all mankind," and have society perpetuate hope, humanitarism, and compassion to enlighten the world with all these commissions.

  • And of course, I would like to make tons of money doing what I do, as I would like everyone in this orgainzation to make tons of money, too! If you can do what you love, and love what you do, getting paid what you're worth on top of that, would be phenomenal. I am confident in everyone's abilities within our organization and would like "Messages of Hope" to be seen as an opportunity to showcase our talents, while doing something to fufill the philanthropic side of our natures.

  • Lastly, I don't want anyone to be put off or intimidated by someone else's talents. I feel that we all possess our own unique blend of credentials, experience, and qualifications that are truly unmatched. Which is the sole purpose in why we are here. We are individuals first, meaning no two individuals are alike. This can be viewed as an opportunity to get the most unabashed input on an idea, so the creative process won't be hindered by conceit.

James and Keith

  • I envision a company where the staff enjoy work,
  • I envision a company that has the power to be a positive influence on the country and the world at large.
  • I would like to work for a company where the momentum and motivation is high and has creative ways to sustain it.
  • I would lie to work for a company that is profitable.
  • I would like to work for a company whose mission is to benefit mankind. (James)

Keith(Aaron Spense)

  • I envision a company with multi facets. The message of hope can be incorporated into a number of areas. I envision the hope messages to have a sense of creative and healing power. I see this occurring in an atmosphere of free-thought.
